Climbing Hill
Climbing Hill is basically a short string of houses along the
highway, although there are several businesses and a church (St.
John's Lutheran) here. The businesses include a small bank, a
beauty parlor, and The Barn, which offers “groceries, beer, food.” It
also serves as the town’s post office. The community’s first post

town. The people
had to climb a hill
to get to it, leading

nestled in the
valley of the West
Fork of the Little
Sioux, which runs
along its north
edge.
