A memorial marker in the city park lists the names of
local residents who served our country in armed
conflicts.

town from the west.
Thurman
Thurman is a couple miles west of Interstate 29 on Fremont
County Highway J-24. As of the 2000 Census, the town had 236
residents.
At least some Thurman residents have a
sense of humor.
With such a small
population, there
are very few
services available
in Thurman.
There is a service
station at the
intersection of
J-24 and County
Highway L-44 and
Plum Creek
Village Antiques
Etc. at 505 Harris
Street, a "Victorian
home, cottage,
and shed packed
with antiques and
home decor."

There is evidence that Thurman once was a more prosperous
town than it is now. There are some former store buildings on
Filmore Street and a fair-sized school building on the west edge
of town. In 1982, all of Thurman's children began attending
school in Tabor. The school building in Thurman continued to
see use by the Thurman Betterment Club.
